Political Awareness & Involvement
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, under the guidance of the National Social Action Commission, mobilizes its members, chapters, and leaders to champion the Sorority’s established positions and objectives. Founded in 1963, the National Social Action Commission serves as a vital resource informing members about pressing civil rights issues. Its origins can be traced back to the Vigilance Committee, which aimed to enhance and unify the Sorority’s social action initiatives. Through these dedicated efforts, Delta Sigma Theta has firmly positioned itself as a key player in the fight for equal political, educational, and economic rights for all Black individuals.
