Arts & Letters

In the mid-seventies, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority established the Arts & Letters Commission under the co-leadership of distinguished Deltas Leontyne Price and Lena Horne. This initiative aimed to uplift and support black women in the arts. Inspired by this legacy, the Tacoma Alumnae Chapter’s Arts and Letters Committee remains dedicated to showcasing creative expressions in performing, visual, and literary arts. These efforts align closely with the mission of the Sorority’s Arts and Letters Commission.

Our chapter proudly upholds the objectives of the National Arts and Letters Commission by hosting programs such as Red Carpet Events and Delta Reads, ensuring that the spirit of creativity and cultural celebration continues to thrive.
